Providing a Safe Place to Live
Several females are in a vulnerable living situation. If they do not get a safe place to live, they will be trafficked. We want to be there for them before tragedy strikes.
PEARL is aware of many causes that lead to vulnerability for girls and women. This often involves the lack of safe shelter and consistent mentoring. The Rumah Mutiara temporary shelter will provide a safe place to live while crisis issues are dealt with, safe long-term options are prepared, and emotional needs are addressed.
Our housing arrangement provides not just a safe place to live but comprehensive care with a dedicated, trained team. Each resident will have a custom fit experience to address their needs and allow her to thrive.
Through residential services, we seek to:
✔ Provide safe, clean housing.
✔ Provide a specific program that fits the resident’s current and future needs.
✔ Provide counseling services to overcome the crisis and prepare for next steps.
✔ Provide medical and health services.
✔ Provide these services for females all faiths.
Our Team
Our dedicated Rumah Mutiara team consists of trained staff members who are passionate about providing a safe and restorative living space for each resident:
Certified Survivor Training
Staff members have completed specialized training in issues and facts that leads an individual to need a safe place to live as well as in caring for each person.
Residents are considered Survivors and/or Lived Experience Experts, not victims
Language is powerful and can shape perspectives. We acknowledge the resiliency required for each resident to endure exploitative experiences. We talk with them with respect for their future and not labels from their past.
Excellence and Caring
Each staff member is educated in their field of expertise. They can perform their job with focus and caring excellence.

respect, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to holistic solutions
for the long term success of the resident.

Beyond the formal counseling sessions, daily mentoring and soft-skill transfer will be demonstrated by the House Moms and other staff.
