SOLEKHAH (IKA)

Staff

Ika brings versatility and heart to her role at PEARL. She moves seamlessly between departments, contributing wherever needed—from supporting daily operations at the Training Center to working alongside the Youth Department in junior high school programs. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom as she conducts home visits with students and their parents, building crucial family connections. Ika also plays an active role with the presentation team, particularly in after-school programs where PEARL's message reaches young people in their own communities.

"It does my heart good to be able to help and serve vulnerable people," Ika shares. Her joy comes from witnessing the blessing that PEARL's work brings to others, while she finds herself equally blessed by the stories teenagers entrust to her. The deep satisfaction she experiences when someone feels safe enough to share their private struggles reflects the genuine trust she builds with the young people in her care.

Ika envisions PEARL's future as "a safe place for the youth of tomorrow and women to grow and develop with hope." This vision drives her daily commitment to creating environments where vulnerable individuals can find both safety and opportunity for growth. Her forward-looking perspective keeps her motivated to invest in relationships that will bear fruit for years to come.

One of the aspects Ika treasures most about her work with PEARL is the continuous learning it provides. "I really like how I can continue to get education beyond my college degree subject," she explains. Through PEARL, she has gained expertise in trauma healing, Lifeworkx, developing micro-businesses, and the Hands that Heal Curriculum—knowledge that enhances her ability to serve others effectively.

Guided by the philosophy that "Even if you have nothing, still be a person who is useful to others," Ika embodies the spirit of service that defines PEARL's approach. Her hope for those she serves is simple yet profound: "What I hope from them is that they can bless others also, like a rope stretching out compassion to others who are in need." Through this chain of compassion, Ika sees how individual transformation can create ripple effects of healing throughout entire communities.
